THE GATHERING LOUNGE

Reception lounges are nicely decorated with staffed and painted walls. They are truly representative of the fashion evolution under the reign of Louis XV, from the “Rocaille” fretwork style popular in the 1760th (such as the one which can be seen in the antechamber and terrace lounges) to the straight and refined style which will definitively prevail under the reign of Louis XVI (such as the gathering lounge).

The gathering lounge which suffered a great deal from roof leakages features an antic architectural style with trompe l’oeil painting imitating marble. .
